Sweatproof, stay in your ears headphones
I've used and tested many earphones. I need something that not only offers good sound reproduction, but will be sweatproof and not pop out of my ears. The ubiquitous white headphones widely available with the most popular MP3 players do not work for me at all. Not a huge problem with how they sound, but they won't stay in. Some are fairly big and uncomfortable, and I don't really like the kind that suck into your ear canal like a vacuum because blocking out ambient noise makes you have to listen to the cord rubbing on your shirt and your own breathing, as well as being somewhat dangerous. These Sennheiser headphones are a pretty good option. Sound is good, maybe not great, and they fit snugly in your ears without blocking out all outside noise. The cord is long enough and sturdy enough it will hold up as well as stay out of your way. Overall, a good headphone. The only thing lacking is an in-line control. Excellent alternative to standard ear buds
I have terribly finicky ears. Normally, in-ear headphones and I do not agree, as the ear buds either do not fit well and fall out within seconds, or they cause aggravating pressure and pain with prolonged use. But as someone who is active, over-the-ear headphones do not work well for me, thus I have been forced to reckon with in-ear headphones for years, never truly satisfied.

Finally, it seems, Sennheiser has solved my problem. The MX685 offers an excellent balance between form, function and comfort, though they're still not quite perfect. Here is a short list of pros and cons, to help highlight some of the key points:

* Sound clarity is surprisingly articulate, with full, rich stereo sound
* External noise is dampened really well, with little sound bleeding in or out
* Includes several sets of ear adapters, based on ear size/comfort
* Water and sweat proof. The manual even indicates the headphones can be washed!

Sturdy, well holding, good sound quality for workout
The Sennheiser MX 685 are affordable, indestructible bud headphones that are well holding in the ear pinna (auricle) with the height-adjustable fins, which slide under the ear pinna's inferior (anterior) crus of antihelix ("Slide to Fit" holding system), that withstand the day to day pounding, are sweat and water proof (can be washed), and still can provide a good sound quality for sport & fitness activities. The sound is crisper & clearer than, and detail is good and above the average... for workout.

The headphones come with a solid long cable w/ a clip, with a small "L" shaped plug, with 3 sets of differently sized rubber, and 1 set of foam covers, and with a bag. The right size rubber covers fit well, but do not fully seal for the weak bass. The foam ones do, but also expose overpowering mids & highs... expected at this price point. If used with the Philips GoGEAR players, the equalizer settings balance mids & highs w/ the bass, and the FullSound technology (software)...
