Sennheiser HD335S Around-the-Ear Headphone

Awesome quality, but look for a deal elsewhere.
I bought these headphones just recently from a box retailer, where I found them for $69.99 on clearance. Not sure why they had them on sale but it was a deal I had to take! I've purchased several headphone sets recently and these are second only to the Sony MDR-XB600 extra bass headphones I bought earlier this year. I'll say that I enjoy music with a good thump to it - rock or rap, even some pop. That said I don't want to sacrifice the high end of the frequency response. The frequency response is something I always check, and at 14-20,000 Hz, you can hardly beat that in this price range. Most comps I checked were at least 18-20,000 Hz, and many were 20-18,000 Hz. (My favorite Sony's I mentioned are 4-24,000 Hz; believe me that stuff makes a big difference.) Aesthetically these cans are hard to beat. I love the styling and they are very comfortable and stay secure on my big head (unlike the Sony's, which fall off if I lean forward).

The sound quality is as advertised -...

It's almost like they made these with me in mind...
First of all, if you have a big head, like I do, you know the pain of finding a decent pair of headphones that one can wear comfortably. I'm happy to say, these fit my head remarkably so! They are the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned.

A couple features I love about these:
the fact that one can raise the right ear phone off your ear. I use this feature a lot, as I tend to use them in crowded places (at work, at home, on public transit). It's nice to not have to stop the music just to hear what someone is saying.
The smartphone / ipod button works great with my ipod classic, kindle fire, and google play music and movies (on both my phone and tablet).
Finally - the majority of the cable is detachable. This is great for storage, as it prevents tangling. It's also nice to know that if I damage that part of the cable, I can replace it.

Don't get me wrong - if you're wanting something super base heavy, these probably aren't the headphones for...

Don't miss the volume control!
These are great headphones. There's a detail here that may get overlooked by some individuals: these headphones have a volume control built-in.

I didn't notice it at first (it didn't help that the Amazon description has a typo in it). It's in the right-side ear cup. If you look at the pics, you'll see a small indentation just below where the headband connects to the right side. That black ring with the dent in it? It's a volume control. The picture shows the volume at 50%. My headphones came with the volume at about 70% (which was quiet).

Hope that helps someone, 'cause these are decent cans.

Amazon: Your description reads "...and talk to people around youth volume control...". It should read "...and talk to people around you. The volume control..."
