Sennheiser Urbanite On-Ear Headphones - Plum

Awesome, high quality headphones with a cool design
I am currently writing this review, blissfully drowning out the sounds of Peppa Pig (no offense, Nick Jr) - everything is quiet here in my own little sanctuary. I have owned a cheaper pair of Sennheisers ($50 range) for 5+ years. They have held up well and they sound good, but I can definitely tell the difference in both sound and quality that this higher price point gets you in the Sennheiser lineup.

First of all, these things are sturdy. The cord is a good length for me, about 3.5' long. My other Sennheisers have a crazy long cord that you could practically jumprope with (6-8' I would guess). I was always left with extra to get in the way. Note that the audio cord is detachable so if you need a longer cord or a 1/4" jack to plug into a receiver, you can do that. The cord is really cool! Great sound, contemporary look. Could be lighter/softer
Sennheiser has a very good reputation so I was excited to try these new headphones. Once I found out how to attach the headphone cord (it is keyed, so it goes in just one way, then twist), I enjoyed them.

Good:
- They deliver excellent sound, emphasizing base but still strong in other ranges. I enjoyed listening to old favorite classic rock tunes with them
- Clean modern look
- Integrated button controls work well
- Solid construction
- Nicely packaged (perhaps important if a gift)

Not so good:
- Uniform headband, extra fabric, and metal construction makes them a bit heavier than ideal
- They don't fold to a small size
- Headphone cable is a bit on the shorter size
- Bulky, even when folded

Also:
- controls on the cable are higher than I'd like, but this is a matter of taste. They are fall high on my left shoulder so they feel a little awkward compared controls centered on my chest (as with...

I love the sound on these headphones
I love the sound on these headphones, i really do. It has a very crisp and clear sound that reciprocates the sound perfectly.
These headphones are also very stylish. I didn't like the style of beats but these urbanite looks really really good.
They are also incredibly well built. You get the feeling that they will last for a long time when used properly.

Having said all those, the main reason I'm docking two eggs Off will be because of comfort. Sure they comfortable enough to wear but not for long periods of time. I use them as a headset going to school enjoying the music while commuting, and while playing games since it has a mic too. I wouldn't recommend using it for long hours of use (3+ hours) coz yor ears gets a little hot and starts to hurt by that point. It distracts me while gaming. Can i adjust to it? Sure but i was expecting it to be much more comfortable to my ears in the first place.
