Sennheiser CX300-W Earbuds (White) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

2nd Pair!

I love these ear buds and they are actually my second pair. Got a pair of black ones for "home use" and the white ones to travel with. I picked them specifically for the base - gotta have it. 'The sound quality is clear and crisp. Can't go wrong with Sennheiser - the Germans know what they're doing! I had my friend who purchase the Bose ear buds to try these and he was impressed and very surprised. I didn't want to tell him he overpaid for the Bose ones, but it's true.

Great earbuds..

I'm gonna have to completely disagree with the other individual who reviewed these earphones. Personally, I find the sound quality of the Sennheiser CX 300-II's to be quite impressive. They not only provide a great low-range sound (the CX 300-II's are nicknamed "Precise Bass"), but also quality highs; and the outcome is above-satisfactory sound quality.

I would recommend these earphones to anyone, and at $20 a pop, you cant go wrong.

Great but not for everybody
I recently aquired an iPod touch and wanted better phones for it. I have a pair of HD555s with the 595 mod. They are wonderful but big.

(A quick note: The 595 mod involves removing the stick on foam pads that are on the inner grid of the 555. This foam cripples the headphones by decreasing the lower bass and causing a nasal midrange and treble.)

The HD555s are triple the cost, so this is a rather fair comparison. ;-)The Earbuds are well built although considerably smaller. The sit inyour earsinstead of on your head. The lonnger right cable is nice and I pass it around the back sode of my head. This keeps the cord from getting in the way. The silicone padsare softer than most and really do seal off the outside.

My first impressions of the audio were not good. The bass is a bit heavy and the top end was quite hard sounding. Iplugged them in and let them play for a few hours while I did other things. After breaking in a bit, the hardness subsided. These...
