Sennheiser RS 175 RF Wireless Headphone System

Great Wireless Headphones
I bought these to replace a pair of Sony MDR RF-6000s and use them mostly for TV/Movies. The Sonys cut out and picked up lots of interference from wifi and other 2.4ghz traffic (I live in a city environment with easily 25 wifi networks in range). Overall, they've been great and are well worth the money.

Signal:
So far, the Sennheisers have been flawless with no dropouts or signal loss. As above, I live in a pretty interference-heavy environment. Haven't really range tested them, but they'll easily go into the next room with no problem.

Sound Quality:
I played around with the bass boost and surround, but find things sound best with all that off. There's no shortage of bass and sound quality is full and on par with any high-end headphone from Bose, Sennheiser, or Sony. There's a slight signal delay, though that's only perceptible when the audio is also playing through speakers, and I'd expect that from any RF headphones.

Wowee! With Some Reservations
I have been using the RS140 over ear and my wife the RS120 on ear headsets. The missus complained about ambient noise and wanted RS140s like mine, but they don't make them anymore. Even though the 140s keep out much ambient noise, mine were sounding quite muddy. I also wear hearing aids under the ear cushions which helps a bit, Even with that setup I have a hard time with the dialogue. Seems like they are always mumbling.

So I was hunting for some over ear headsets for the wife and came upon these. I would guess the RS170s are much the same, except they have no digital optical. I opted for these RS175s so I could go with digital sound vs. analogue. I received the phones yesterday (I purchased the extra phone for myself). Swapped the batteries from the old headsets as they were charged up and ready to go. Easy to hook up, just plug in the optical cord and turn everything on.

I was shocked, shocked I say with the fidelity of these headsets. I could understand...

Overall great headphones! Love the fact that it has optical and digital outputs, so I can connect PS3 and cable and just switch between inputs. I have been a Sennheiser user for more that 10 years, upgraded from RS130, which I have been using for 8,5 years and they still working! I have never even changed the rechargeable batteries! 5 stars so far, the only con is the cables supplied could have been a bit longer.
