Cheaper and Better than DIY
Finally, the market catches up with the consumer for projection screens. I had deferred purchasing a fixed frame projection screen for years due to the outrageous prices from companies like Da-Lite and Carada. I even went so far as to have a smooth wall installed for a DIY painted screen when I was finishing my basement. But like another reviewer, at the end of the day the wall was not suited for a large screen due to several imperfections. This screen is relatively easy to assemble and is perfectly tensioned, meaning no more waves during panning scenes. The black felt border is another essential aspect of a quality screen you will be hard pressed to replicate with DIY solutions.
All in all, this product will save you significant time and money vs trying to do it yourself, like using a laminate sheet with a DIY border, which was the route I was going to go before I found out about silver ticket. The picture quality is the best I have ever observed, and even though other...
Good screen, great price!
I'm happy with this screen! I bought the 110" screen with the white 1.1 material. I like that the frame for the screen is made of sturdy metal and some beefy connecting brackets. The velvet-like black coating on the frame does a great job absorbing extra thrown light. I did find that the longer metal tension rods for the screen material didn't exactly want to connect to each other and fit snugly. Took some effort to get them to stay. Do yourself a favor and check out Silver Ticket's YouTube videos. They explain how to assemble the screen and how to appropriately stretch the material. The included instruction booklet explains all this too, but I found it easier to watch the videos.. I also suggest you add a step in the screen assembly process. Before putting the projection screen material on the assembled frame first check it compared to your wall mount...
Good screen, except...
The screen looks good and movies look good on it..Goes together pretty easily, compared to some other ones..My only complaint, which is a pretty big one, is the screen material is very thin and will tear very easily, if not super careful putting the middle support bar on!!!
