The Philips Bluetooth Surround Base with Blu-Ray adds a lot of functionality to a digital TV. It's ALMOST perfect, almost...but not quite.

INSTALLATION and OUT-OF-BOX EXPERIENCE

You get the soundbox, which is about 30" long X 14" wide X 3.5" high. It will hold a 32" to 55" TV up to 22Kg or 48.4lb television. A manual, a quick-start pamphlet, and a remote with batteries.

It comes with a power cable attached.

WHAT ISN'T THERE: You'll need an AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable and possibly an Digital Optical Audio Cable, if your TV is not HDMI-ARC (mine is not--you can often tell by looking at the HDMI port, which will have -ARC after it if it's ARC but...not always. You'll want the TV manual handy.)

Man-Cave-alicious!
I just set this up in one of my man caves. I needed something like this to serve as its own sound system and connect via Wifi since I have no ethernet in my garage. First, make sure you understand this is a big unit so pay attention to the dimensions. It's built to be a TV base. I plugged in my monitor and connected them via HDMI. I plugged in this unit and very quickly I was up and running. It was super easy to connect to my Wifi network which then gave me access to Netflix and to YouTube. Both of this are necessary for me to drag myself out to the garage gym. It also plays Blu-ray and regular DVDs. You will quickly get used to the remote. On certain functions a QWERTY keyboard will show up on the screen and it's quite easy to type your passwords and email addresses you need to sign in to the different services it needs. Best sound bar for the money and a great Blu-Ray player!

I bought this after having returned Bose, Onkyo, and Energy sound bases! It's a truly outstanding piece!
I highly recommend it!
