Sennheiser HD 219 S Headphones with Integrated Microphone for Smartphones, Black

100% satisfied, but early in the game...
Excellent value for the price (they aren't cheap, and they don't feel cheap). Excellent sound for everyday usage in an office (designed for sound isolation). Amazingly comfortable (light weight, padded in all the right spots). The mike works well (better than EarPods I'm told). I'm 100% satisfied.

I am unsure of the user who declared these phones "Inefficient" When I first put them on they were very low, I slid the volume slider and they were too loud to wear. I had been listening to the same track at the same point, at the same volume, with my EarPods, just a few moments earlier. I have not been through the "burn in" period with these headphones, but I am quite satisfied so far.

My Requirements when shopping were: (in no particular order)
1. No Bluetooth: bluetooth headphones, while workable, sound bad to me and up the price. Even the good ones.
2. Mike and remote for iPhone. I don't like switching to take/place calls
3. On ear...

Crisp, Clear & Clean Sound With IPOD 5
I like the Sennheiser HD 219 S headphones with Integrated Microphone for smartphones. I used it with my IPOD 5, though, and the sound is clear, crisp and clean. The box advertises Vibrant sound with punchy bass, but I didn't notice that much. I played Adele, which uses a lot of mid-range vocals and acoustic sounds, and the headphones were fine. I listed to Awol-Nation, which is hard-rock/metal type, and the bass did not sound good at all. Imagine Dragons is a kind of easy rock, and the headphones worked great for their music, too. Two out of three ain't bad.

What I like about the headphones, besides the sound, is the comfortable fit on my ears and head. The unit is very lightweight. Light as air, actually, which means I can wear them while listening to music and forget I have them on. Obviously these are not intended to be used like ear buds, but are made for comfort & home use. Yes, you can use them with your smart phone and listen to an MP3 player, but don't...

Bose Soundtrue over ears, or Sennheiser HD 219/229?
Sennheiser fan, I've purchased about 3 sennheiser headphones ranging from these to open ears, to closed ear noise canceling, these were a purchase of spite. Bose has really comfortable over the ear padded headphones with good sound...for $150. These are better, the sound quality and comfort are similar, the fit is the same as the Bose, and they're $100 cheaper, if you're on the fence and just discovered these, get them instead. If you already have the Bose, enjoy the lack of mobile functionality.

Side by side comparison done in store.
