Sennheiser CX200 Twist-to-Fit Earbuds

Great sound and isolation for the price
Before buying these, I read the reviews for this product, the slightly more expensive CX300s and a few from other manufacturers. I noticed a wide variation in user experiences. I ended up selecting these as a compromise on price, and after trying them, I think I have a theory on why the opinions are so different. What you end up hearing depends very highly on how the things fit in your ears.

As I opened the package I was listening to a song through my cheap came-with-the-player earbuds, which were what you'd expect: okay but not great. With the song playing I swapped one earbud, swapped the plug, and then swapped the other ear. At first, I was hit by this wave of disappointment -- the sound from the CX200 seemed *worse* than the cheap earbuds they replaced. Thinking with dread about how I hate sending things back, I adjusted them in my ears. After a couple seconds, I noticed I was hearing parts of the music I hadn't heard before, both bass and treble. I can sleep with these in my ears!
I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, and I gotta say that it can get a bit loud here. That being said I have had to resort to ear plugs when I am going to sleep. Now that I have these earphones, I can fall asleep to music! They are comfortable in my ears, have the most amazing sound, and work with my 1G iPhone, for music at least.

There is nothing else to be said- great price for a great pair of ear buds!

Perfect For What They Are
You aren't getting the CX200's because you want the ultimate in earbud technology. You are getting them because you want a cheapo pair of ear buds that don't sound too bad, which is exactly what you get with the CX200.

Pros:
Very comfortable
I completely forget they are in my ears. They are in fact, so light and have almost zero feeling in the ear, that it is nearly distracting, since I am not used to such localized music in my ear canal without the feeling of something stuffed into my ear holes.

Reinforced connections:
A lot of ear buds break after tugging the wire over and over to remove them, but these are a bit sturdier, with a shrink wrap tube where the wires meet the ear bud.

Decent sound:
You won't be using these in the sound booth or to mix music on your laptop, but in the garage or datacenter or on the bus, they are good enough. Highs and mids are good.

Cord length:
Not too long. Not too short. I really...
